In honor of GALAEI Day, we will honor an individual who shows leadership and works to improve the community in ways that align with GALAEI’s mission.

We want to hear from you! Please consider nominating an individual for the David Acosta Revolutionary Leader Award. Download nomination form here.

We hope you will also join us at the award ceremony on Friday, April 13th from 5-7 pm in Philadelphia (location TBD).

ELIGIBILITY:

Adults older than 18 who reside in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Montgomery or Delaware County. All applications must be complete. All nominations must be received via email or postmarked by March 16th. All nominees must be available to attend the award ceremony on April 13th, from 5-7 pm in Philadelphia (location TBA).

CRITERIA:

Evaluation criteria may include, but is not limited to: passion for improving the community, dedication to projects the nominee has been involved with, integrity in all aspects of nominee’s life, vision for a better community that inspires others and hope that the vision can be achieved.

EL PASO, Texas — An online magazine dedicated to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual Hispanic community is growing in popularity. The publisher of the magazine is an El Paso native who says this magazine is the only of its kind in the nation and one that was needed.

Between 2005 and 2009, Philadelphia has seen a 64.6% decline in new AIDS cases.
